The problem

You have a decent pension.
So why does retirement still feel uncertain?

Most people approaching retirement have done the right things — they've contributed to their pension, built some ISAs, maybe kept an eye on the markets. And yet the question "will I actually be able to retire when I want to?" remains stubbornly unanswered. That's not a money problem. It's a clarity problem.

"
Your pension statement doesn't answer the questionIt tells you what you have. It doesn't tell you whether it's enough, when you can access it, or what it will actually pay you each month.
"
Online calculators give you a number with no contextA lump sum figure or a projected monthly income — with no mention of inflation, sequence risk, tax, or the order you should draw your income.
"
Full financial advice feels like a big commitmentYou're not sure you need a full ongoing plan yet. You just want to see the picture clearly — before you commit to anything.
"
You don't know what you don't knowDB transfer considerations. NI gaps. PCLS decisions. Sequencing risk. The things that could cost or save you tens of thousands — you won't find them in a calculator.
The 60-Minute Retirement Map gives you the clarity a full financial plan would — but focused entirely on your retirement picture, delivered in a single session, at a fraction of the cost.
What's included

Everything in one session

01
Live Timeline cashflow modelling
Your actual numbers — pension values, ISAs, State Pension, DB income, target retirement age — built into a professional cashflow model on screen, in real time. You see everything as it's built.
02
Three scenarios modelled
Your preferred retirement date. Three years later. And a stress test — lower returns, higher inflation — to show whether your plan holds up under pressure.
03
Full session recording
The complete Google Meet recording, including the live modelling, is sent to you within 24 hours. Watch it back as many times as you need.
04
PDF summary report
A written 1–2 page summary of your three scenarios, the key numbers from your model, and the questions you should be asking next. Sent within 48 hours.
05
60 minutes with a Chartered Planner
Delivered by a Chartered Financial Planner (CII) with senior paraplanning experience. You can ask questions. You can challenge assumptions. This is a conversation, not a presentation.

Is this right for you?

This session is designed for specific people

Not everyone will get the same value from this session. Here's who it's genuinely built for — and who it isn't the right fit for.

You're in your 40s or 50s with meaningful pension and ISA assets already in place (typically £200k+)
You're just starting your pension — this session won't add much value at the very early stages
You want to see your retirement picture clearly — not just a projected pot value, but scenarios with income, spending, and sustainability
You need regulated financial advice and a specific personal recommendation — this session provides guidance only
You've never had your finances modelled professionally and want to understand what cashflow planning actually shows
You already work with a regulated IFA who models your cashflow regularly — you already have what this provides
You're considering taking regulated advice in the next 12–18 months and want to be well-informed before you do
You're in active financial distress or need urgent regulated advice — please contact an FCA-authorised adviser directly

Who you're working with

A Chartered Planner who's seen the full picture

I'm Ben Atherton — a senior paraplanner and Chartered Financial Planner through the Chartered Insurance Institute. For the past several years I've worked behind the scenes on the financial plans of hundreds of clients — building the cashflow models, running the stress tests, and constructing the reports that help people understand whether their retirement plans actually hold up.

What I've seen consistently is that the people most anxious about retirement aren't the ones with the least money. They're the ones with the least clarity. A solid pension and a good income doesn't automatically give you confidence — only seeing your actual numbers, modelled professionally, does that.

The 60-Minute Retirement Map is the session I'd want someone to have before making any major financial decision. Not to replace regulated advice — but to walk into it with your eyes open.

What clients say

Clarity changes everything

"

I'd been putting off getting proper clarity on my retirement for years. Seeing it modelled live — three scenarios, stress tested — was exactly what I needed. I left the session with a clear picture and a list of three things to act on immediately.

"

We did this as a couple and it was genuinely one of the most useful 60 minutes we've spent on our finances. Ben's knowledge of the technical detail — DB scheme options, sequencing risk, ISA strategy — is exactly what we needed.

"

I was expecting a sales pitch for ongoing advice. What I got was a genuinely useful, detailed session with no agenda other than helping me understand my situation. I could retire 4 years earlier than I thought. That's life-changing information.

If you're not crystal clear,
you don't pay

If you attend your session and leave without a clear picture of your retirement timeline — including at least three modelled scenarios, a stress test, and a written summary of your next steps — I will refund your £197 in full. No questions asked, no awkward conversations. The only condition is that you show up and engage. If I can't give you clarity, you shouldn't pay for it.

Sessions are limited to 15 per month This is a genuine constraint — not a marketing tactic. Each session requires preparation and a full hour of focused time. When the month is full, it's full.
